This week, our focus will be on standing balances to strengthen the lower body muscles, specifically quadriceps, hamstrings, calves, and glutes. In addition to strengthening the lower body, standing balancing poses requires immense focus, mental stability, and of course, a great sense of humor!
Before we dive into standing balancing poses, we will of course warm-up with several vinyasa sequences. Finally, we will end the class with some hamstring and quad stretches. If you have any questions, concerns, or even pose suggestions for this class, please offer them up!
I look forward to seeing you all again. Hope you had a wonderful holiday!

What a fantastic class and energy tonight! It was great seeing you all again after a week of no yoga. Thanks for coming out and continually inspiring us all.
So as we are aware by now, there are three elements to the vinyasa style of yoga -- cardio, strength, and flexibility. I try to incorporate those three elements in every class, sometimes, one element is more dominant than another. Tonight, the dominant element was strength, particularly on the leg muscles (hamstrings, quads, calves, and glutes).
I invite you to leave me with a comment, or send me an e-mail with your thoughts on tonight's class. Ou of curiosity, I would be interested in knowing which of the three elements are you looking for in a yoga class.
Tomorrow morning, upon getting out of bed, if your legs and lower body is feeling sore, do some forward folds to lengthen and stretch out the leg muscles.
As always, it was a pleasure seeing all of you tonight - new and familiar faces. If you have any suggestions for Sunday's class or next week's class, please offer them up. Also, any questions about tonight's class, please don't hesitate to e-mail me.
Cheers!!!
